RTW: Best book read in January

Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

This Week's Topic:
What was the best book you read in January?

Ok so this month was semi slow for me.  I didn’t read but 5 books.  I read the Beautiful Creatures series and the first two books in the Dark Swan series.  Of those I really can’t choose, yes it’s a cop out but they are different categories.  The Beautiful books are YA and amazingly fun and compelling.  While the Dark Swan books are Adult and have a different feel.  While I can enjoy both types of books equally, I don’t know how to choose between them.  To me it’s like picking apples and oranges.  I’ll just say that I have enjoyed them all and recommend both series, but as I still have 2 more books in the Dark Swan series left to read and they are sitting on my kindle just waiting my for eyes to look upon them they may inch ahead…after all I can enjoy more right away and not have to wait and that always gets some points.

  2. I have a couple of the BEAUTIFUL CREATURES books sitting on my shelf begging to be read. They definitely sound compelling and I'll have to get to them soon :-)

  4. Are the Beautiful Creatures a finished series? I just have to many series to keep up with to start more!

  5. icountwords- They are quite fun. For a spoiler free review of the first two books just look back in my blog a post or two.

Jamie- Oh they are good. Also there is a short novella offered as an e-book Dream Dark book 2.5 (not necessary but cute but don't read until after book 2).

Liz- Glad I could help a fellow book lover add to their list.

Laurie- So funny story. I waited until the 3rd came out so I wouldn't have to wait and avoid the cliff hanger ending before the wait. Well...sigh I thought three was the end but it turns out I was wrong. I am anxiously awaiting book 4.
