Top Ten Tuesday! Books to check out if you like...

Hello everyone!  Top Ten Tuesday is just how it sounds, a topic is picked and we put our Top Ten for that in a post and share and check out everyone’s answers.  Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke andthe Bookish.

The top today is:  Ten Books to Read if you like The X-Men!  Basically people with cool powers!

The Young Elites by Marie Lu
The Holders series by Julianna Scott (reviews: Holders & Seers)
The Geneva Project by Christina Benjamin (reviews: Truth, Secrets, Character Interview)
The Shadow Ravens (Cipher and Quanta) by Ink Monster (review: Cipher)
Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi (reviews: Shatter Me, Unravel Me, Ignite Me)
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard (review)
Rivulet by Jamie Magee (review)
And more magic than powers but still:
Worldwalker series by Josephine Angelini (reviews: Trial by Fire & Firewalker)

That's it for me this week.  Do you know any other good books/series that focus on people with powers I should check out?  Share in the comments below.

                Until next time…

  1. I only know the Darkest Minds from your list, but I really loved this series. So I'll check the other books, maybe there is one I'll like as well.
As for other series about people with powers...how about the Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong? I liked Darkest Minds more, but I still enjoyed Darkest Powers (I have never written the word darkest as much as in this comment, haha).

My TTT is about Books to read if you like Tolkien.

    1. Haha a lot of darkest going on. You know I haven't read those but I do have them (my shamefully long TBR) I'll have to get to them soon and I hope you like some of the other series as well!

  3. Great list. I love the X-Men but sad to say, have not actually read any of your list. I own several of them, but haven't gotten around to them yet. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I am totally bookmarking this page because there are so many books here I've never even heard of - and I do love me some X-Men-esque books. Very interested in The Geneva Project and Rivulet - I've got to go read about them. I've not actually read it yet, but I have heard that Illusive by Emily Lloyd-Jones is like the X-Men. (Which, admittedly, is so the reason I bought it.)

  5. The cover to Rivulet is absolutely amazing! I was a little confused about the series situation for Rivulet, but I read your review and am so glad you pointed out that you can read it on its own :)

    1. OMG yes! You know what's so funny about that is I met the author at UtopYA back in June, didn't know she'd be there or anything just saw the book cover I knew and had to go over all excited and she mentioned a blog summing it up really well and then we both laughed realizing it was me! It was hilarious and totally mad my day!

  9. You know, I didn't think I would like X-Men, BUT I have liked a LOT of the books you mentioned, so maybe I am selling X-Men short? Perhaps I will give it a try! Fabulous list :)

    1. I'm so glad you've liked books from the list. As for X-men some movies are better than others. I know some of my die hard comic fans friends don't like the movies as much specifically the last stand but I'm really enjoying the ones with the younger cast (young Xavier and Eric) a bit more.
