I have to say huge thank you to Amy at Limey YALit Girl for tagging me in this.
So I’m still working on my first draft of my WIP
which at the moment doesn’t have a good title.
To me nailing down a title is way too hard until I have my story
finished. I could give a generic one but
I don’t think it would suit it as well.
So thus far it is ‘new story’ haha.
So these are the rules as I understand them from
Amy:
1) Go to page 77 of your current WIP
2) Got to line 7
3) Copy down the next 7 lines as they’re written—no cheating
**okay so I just checked my line starts in the middle of a sentence so I’ll be
starting with the first sentence start middle line 7**
4) Tag 7 other writers
5) Let them know
So keep in mind first draft. Also as context this is a bit of conversation
between my main character and her handler (witness protection). Not really very riveting but it makes way more
sense in the story. So without further
ado here are my 7 lines:
I tried them once and the guy I was seeing at the time said he’d spend
ten minutes trying to wake me up. Call
me crazy I want to be able to wake up if something is happening around me.”
Lexi laughed. She’d never liked the idea of them either and
not being able to wake up. Then knowing
her mother had given them too her when she was sick didn’t help.
“How about I fall
asleep for you and you stay asleep for me,” she joked.
“If only it were
that easy.”
So there you have it. Now is where I’m supposed to tag 7 other
people but that is a bit of a problem. See
I’ve seen this post in almost all of the blogs I follow already. I don’t remember who has and who hasn’t done
it. I remember good bits of story but
sadly my ability to place them with a name is not working for me. That being said I’m going to say to all of
you who read this and haven’t done it, consider yourself tagged!
Okay so I cheated and took the easy way out but in
my defense I blame my excitement for tonight (The Hunger Games midnight
showing). Most of my brain is focused on
that hehe. So that means tomorrow you should get another post, a movie review
of course.
Have a great day!
Hi Eve! I find it hard to get the whole picture in just a few sentances, but I liked what you have here. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I can't wait to see HG either :) New follower!
Hey Jaybird,
DeleteThanks! Yes well I hope to get my WIP finished before too long and then I can worry about the after. Edits, edits, sending it out...yikes!
I'm so stoked. I'm baking the goodies now. I didn't prepare as much as I would have normally but I am making snickerdoodles and pistachio cupcakes.
Pistaschio cupcakes sound yummy! Do you share recipes? I would love to have the recipe for those. I won't be able to go see Hunger Games until Monday. Sigh. It's probably for the best as I would most likely be the oldest person in the theater at midnight, like when I went to see Twilight. LOL
DeleteThanks!
DeleteOh Hunger Games was so good. Working on my review right now.
Oh and yes I can share my recipe! Shoot me an e-mail and i'll send it over. Oh we have everyone at ours, from younger kids to grandmas. It was a good time.
DeleteInteresting snippet--it makes me wonder what exactly is going on. (Also, sorry if you would have prefered I didn't mention it, but I think there's a little typo in "too"--should be "to".)
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the HG movie! :D
Hi,
DeleteI'm glad then I really need to kick it into gear on finishing it! Haha yeah my grammar was never the best, despite how much I try to work on it I still always make the same type mistakes. Thanks!
Intriguing teaser for your WIP! It definitely has gotten my curiosity piqued to know more about what's happening. Looks like a fun meme!
ReplyDeleteOh that's good. I think the story is interesting so i'll have to finish it. Thanks!
