“Waiting
On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that
spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. Basically books that are not yet out that we
are dying to get our hands on. This
week’s pick is:
Soundless by Richelle Mead
Out: 11/10
From Goodreads:
For as long as Fei can remember, there has been no
sound in her village, where rocky terrain and frequent avalanches prevent
residents from self-sustaining. Fei and
her people are at the mercy of a zipline that carries food up the treacherous
cliffs from Beiguo, a mysterious faraway kingdom.
When villagers begin to lose their sigh, deliveries
from the zipline shrink and many go hungry.
Fei's home, the people she loves, and her entire existence is plunged
into crisis, under threat of darkness and starvation.
But soon Fei is awoken in the night by a searing
noise, and sound becomes her weapon.
Richelle Mead takes readers on a triumphant
journey from the peak of Fei's jagged mountain village to the valley of Beiugo,
where a startling truth and an unlikely romance will change her life forever…
Why I'm Waiting:
Richelle Mead.
Seriously, she's top of the Auto-Buy Author list. Also it's a stand-alone fantasy book! How many of those are there. Plus it sounds amazing, steeped in Chinese
folklore and this whole take on sound just seems interesting and I can't wait
to see what happens.
Richelle Mead is an auto-buy author for me too. After reading all her finished series I know now to expectt absolutely the best from her.

I haven't started the succubus ones yet, I am waiting to get them all on my shelf and I'm missing one of them still. Hoping to finish that series next year.
DeleteI've been seeing this one a lot lately... I hope you love it when you get your hands on it!!

I'm beyond excited! I did the pre-order through one of the stores that was getting the special covers (and signed) so I'll get it a few days after but totally worth it!
DeleteI may have to give this one a chance purely because it is a stand-alone. You don't see many of those in the YA world these days. Hope you love it!
ReplyDeleteI know I was shocked to hear it was a stand alone just because all her other books are series!
