“Waiting
On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that
spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. Basically books that are not yet out that we
are dying to get our hands on. This
week’s pick is:
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard
Out: 2/9
Book 2
From Goodreads:
Mare Barrow’s blood is red—the color of common
folk—but her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her
into a weapon that the royal court tries to control.
The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but
as she makes her escape from Maven, the prince—the friend—who betrayed her,
Mare uncovers something startling: she
is not the only one of her kind.
Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive kind, Mare sets
out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle
against her oppressors.
But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk
of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat.
Will she shatter under the weight of the lives
that are the cost of rebellion? Or have
treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?
Why I’m Waiting:
I
read the first book Red Queen (review) and enjoyed it. I did really enjoy it and even gave it 5
stars but I do think for some it can be over hyped. I read it rather soon after release only
knowing a bit of the hype and it was what I expected and had a twist thrown in
I wasn’t expecting so props for that. I
think it was a good first book and really set up for what I hope will be a
wonderful series and after the ending I’m ready to see what happens next!
What
are you waiting on? Tell me below what
you think of this title and leave a link to your WoW as well so I can check it
out!
I just ordered the first book in this series from Amazon. Curious to see wht the hype is about :)

ReplyDeleteI know after the ending I need to know more!
DeleteYeah! I'm so excited for this one as well! I'm seriously counting the days. :) Great pick!
ReplyDeletePre-order on amazon has been my new best friend so far this year!
DeleteI felt the first book was over-hyped and i think that ruined it for me slightly. I'm going to give it another go and hopefully enjoy it more and then get onto this one. Hope you enjoy it!

Yes I have had that happen to be before with over hype. I have found that it's best to try and go in with a blank slate!
