Hello
everyone! Top Ten Tuesday is just how it
sounds, a topic is picked and we put our Top Ten for that in a post and share
and check out everyone’s answers. Top
Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
The top ten today is: Visuals (Graphic Novels, Illustrated, Comics, etc)
First
let me pick any books with MAPS huge plus!
They are so pretty. And things
like Six of Crows that had a character sketch poster those kind of things are
on point!
Harry Potter Illustrated Editions- Harry Potter
with pictures=perfect!
The Infernal Devices Manga- Black and white and
really interesting to see my characters and relive the whole series in a
quicker more visual format.
A History of Notable Shadowhunters & Denizensof Downworld- This is something I saw someone haul and just knew I needed
it. A guide of characters in different
series and information on them but mostly the art....so many books should have
this.
Legend Graphic Novels- The first two were awesome and I have the final one on pre-order for April.
Vampire Academy Graphic
Novels- One of my fav series of course I love these! I can't wait for the rest!
House of Night Novellas bind-up Graphic Novel- I was sad to see this series come to an end so when I found the novellas in graphic novel form I had to!
You Were Here by –Each character had their own
voice and style in chapters and the art show as one of those was perfect some normal book format others in art work and some in graphic novel style. (review)
Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas- The
coloring book. So a bit different but
the pages in the book are so pretty.
This could really go to any of the many coloring books coming out as of
late for series like Lunar Chronicles, The Selection, etc.
Wires and Nerve (Vol #1)- This comes out today and I can't wait for my copy to arrive!
I've mostly stuck to graphic novels of series I already love but I have
been wanting to check out more, full stories I just don't know where to
start. Hoping to get some good ideas
this week!
What books have I been missing out on? Tell me what you think of my list in the
comments below. Also please link back to
your Top Ten as well so I can check out your list and see what I missed!
I love books with maps, definitely. Or anything that kinda pushes the envelope visually. That Shadowhunters book looks really cool, and so does the Legends books (I didn't there were graphic novels of those).
ReplyDeleteWires and Nerve I keep seeing and I'm really curious about...
The Shadowhunters ones are pretty awesome. I found out about the Legend ones by accident and am so happy to have done so!
DeleteYou know I heard they have quite a few ya novels adapted to graphic novels. I really need to get my hands on them! Specially The Infernal Devices. By far one of my favorite series!
ReplyDeleteI got Wires and Nerves preordered! I'm so ecstatic to finally get it soon!!!
Great list!
-Amanda @ Hearts Stories
They are fun and I've found a great way to get into this type of medium!
DeleteI love my Harry Potter illustrated editions! Love the artwork and it's another excuse to read them which is never a bad thing!
ReplyDeleteOMG I know right! My mom asked why I needed more than one copy (as I have the original hardcovers) and I advised her these have illustrations duh!
DeleteI'm going to have to look for the House of Night book. I read part of the series and didn't hate it although Zoe drove me crazy a lot of the time. I am loving the artwork on that book though!
ReplyDeleteThe series is a beast with 12 books but the novella bind up is super short and pretty ;)
DeleteI need a copy of A History of Notable Shadowhunters & Denizens of Downworld in my life! I didn't even know it existed, but I agree, more books should have these.
ReplyDeleteYep that was my thought when I saw someone haul it. It's beautiful!
DeleteI really need to pick up the illustrated Harry Potter books. I keep looking at them longingly when I go to the bookstore! Also need to read A History of Notable Shadowhunters & DDenizens of Downworld!
ReplyDeleteYes to both! The history is mostly just character summaries and beautiful artwork but it's interesting and really adds a bit of extra flare ;) plus the pictures!
DeleteI've been contemplating purchasing the illustrated Harry Potter books. They're so pretty. I can't wait to pick up Wires and Nerves! I still need to finish reading the Lunar Chronicles.
ReplyDeleteOMG they are so pretty and they are releasing one a year so it's not as expensive when you get one each year ;)
DeleteMost of the titles in your post are new to me, so I'll have fun checking the titles out.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my TTT post for this week:
