Top Ten Tuesday: Longest sitting TBR books!

Hello everyone!  Top Ten Tuesday is just how it sounds, a topic is picked and we put our Top Ten for that in a post and share and check out everyone’s answers.  Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

The top ten today is: Longest sitting TBR books (before blogging)

Okay this is kind of depressing how many books are sitting on my shelf unread.  More so now as I contemplate the issue of packing them up and moving them.  Still as I look at my shelves I know some have been sitting much longer than others.  Here are 10 of the ones sitting for the longest time.

Prophecy of the Sisters (Prophecy of the Sisters #1) by Michelle Zink- I was new to buying books and found Sam’s Club had some pretty good choices (then at least) and they were cheaper than the book store (before discovering Amazon) so I picked up this one with a pretty creepy cover.

Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan- I only finally bought this series two years ago but I’ve been meaning to read them since well before when the first movie came out and I knew they were books.  Planned to read them this year and finally catch up…not going so hot.

Infinity (Chronicles of Nick #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon- I saw them around and was new to the book world and heard a couple of good things and bought them…still haven’t started

Tiger’s Curse (The Tiger Saga #1) by Colleen Houck- Okay so I wanted to read these because I LOVE white tigers they are my favorite animal and one of the covers has one on the cover that’s how I found them.  Then I heard some friends talking about how awesome they were…just haven’t read them yet.

White Cat (Curse Workers #1) by Holly Black- Okay so another Sam’s Club buy that looked interesting and I know lots of people enjoy this series I just haven’t started it.  I have read another book by her though that made me even more interested in this one.

Need (Need #1) by Carrie Jones- Pretty cover and it sounded interesting at the time though I don’t remember what it was supposed to be about.

Incarceron (Incarceron #1) by Catherine Fisher- Okay so this sounds old but the cover was what drew me in.  I love old school keys they look so cool.  Also I hadn’t really read many YA books at the time so figured futuristic prison sounded new and exciting.

Tumble & Fall by Alexandra Coutts- An end of the world story where they aren’t trying to fix things or save the world just make the most of what’s left.  Sounded different.  It was even a group read for my group at one point but things got crazy and I never started it.

Thirteen Days to Midnight by Patrick Carman- Pretty sure I was browsing the books in Walmart with a friend one day and just decided I needed this one because of a blurb or something.

Partials (Partials #1) by Dan Wells- This one was everywhere and I wanted to be on board with everyone but never got there.

Some of these I still plan to trying to read others I’m on the fence about currently.  If you’ve read any let me know what you think.  Tell me what you think of my list in the comments below.  Also please link back to your Top Ten as well so I can check out your list and see what I missed!

Top Ten Tuesday: Resolutions! Books/Series I plan to finish

Hello everyone!  Top Ten Tuesday is just how it sounds, a topic is picked and we put our Top Ten for that in a post and share and check out everyone’s answers.  Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

The top today is: Resolutions!  Books/Series I plan to finish!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan- Okay so I never jumped on the band wagon.  Okay maybe didn't know it was a thing until near the end of the sequel series (which is technically on my list too but I'm encompassing them all) was almost over and I never could catch up!  Better late than never.
The 5th Wave series by Rick Yancy- Been wanting to read this for a while but haven't for some unknown reason but with the movie coming out this month I need to get on this one!
Mara Dyer series by Michelle Hodkin- Love mentioned for this series (mixed feelings seem to be on the final book) but still I want to know what everyone was talking about!
Daughter of Smoke & Bone series by Laini Taylor- I have heard huge praise from this book/series and the author and after meeting her and talking to her I feel bad I still haven't read these yet.
Snow Like Ashes series by Sara Raasch- This is a friend of mines huge obsession and I love the sound of it and the cover but kept putting it off but I guess with two books out its a good time to catch up.
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black- Nothing but good things have been said (to me anyways) about this book and I have been meaning to pick it up for so long.
Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout- I am such a huge fan of JLA but it seems almost impossible to catch up with her she puts out so many books!  I need to power through these on my shelf and keep going!
Summer trilogy by Jenny Hann- Meant to read these last Summer...but things didn't happen that way.  I was missing the first book.  Hard to start a series missing book one.
The Selection series by Kiera Cass- Heard things good and bad for this series but I want to give it a go, I have all in the original trilogy and the first in the continuation/companion I believe.
Adorkable by Sarra Manning- I use this term all the time and found out its the title of a book.  I know nothing else about it but I had to have it and I still haven't read it.

What do you think?  Let me know below in the comments.  Also please link back to yours so I can see your top ten!

Happy Teaser Tuesday!  Today is the 5th installment of ten weeks of teasers for the release of Asleep by Krystal Wade.  A spine-chilling YA psychological thriller and debut novel from Blaze Publishing set to come out February 16th.  All teasers and other content can be found on the Blaze Publishing blog.  You can also pre-order your copy now from Amazon and add it to your Goodreads list!

A Bookish Tag: The TBR Tag

I was tagged by Lucy at Things Lucy Reads a little while back but I was excited to do this!
How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
My TBR is mostly in my head or just looking at my shelves seeing the books I have yet to read.  I also have a physical list of some that I want to read in the near future that I keep track of with any ARC e-books for review.

Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?
Both.  I have tons of books in both formats.
How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
I just go based off what I'm most interested in at that moment.  A new release I've been craving or just a series I'd been wanting to read and have time to marathon.  I do try to prioritize any ARC's I get though.

A book that's been on your TBR list the longest?
Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink I got it when I was buying a bunch of books when I first got back into reading but I bought so many I never picked it up.

A book on your TBR strickly because of the beautiful cover?
The B&N special editions of Jane Austen bind-up The Vampire  Chronicles  or  the Iliad/Odyssey

A book you recently added to your TBR?
Asleep by Krystal Wade.

A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading?
My TBR list I plan to read all of them but as for my shelves TBR I have to say finishing the Fallen series by Thomas E. Sniegoski.  I read the first two I believe and then started the third but I never got into it and I didn't LOVE the first two.  I maybe also only read them because I wanted to watch the straight to DVD movie with Paul Wesley back when I was first getting addicted to The Vampire Diaries show.

A book on your TBR that everyone has read but you?

A book on your TBR that you're dying to read?
Winter by Marissa Myer

An unpublished book on your TBR that you're excited for?
A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir I originally heard somewhere An Ember in the Ashes was a stand-alone they were making into a series so I thought, complete story but more to come.  NOPE.  Cliffhanger!

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?

How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

At the present only 55 but I recently went through and only put the ones on my written TBR, ones I am seriously considering as contenders for the rest of 2015 and and the unreleased.

Finally, I tag:
Lisa at Shatter Books
Christina at Books Are Life
